Starting 2025, FSAS is organising admission process for a new Master Program in climate change, Cross Disciplinary Perspectives on Socio-Ecological Transformations. It is a cross disciplinary master, involving 4 faculties from University of Bucharest. The program is dedicated to future leaders tackling with some of the most urgent global problems: climate change, energy transition and environmental crisis. The causes and the effects of these matters are so intricate that there is the need of a transdisciplinary approach in public policies and planning for a sustainable future.

The program is at the nexus of social, human and natural science so that our graduate students are able to break disciplinary boundaries and work together with experts from different fields to propose sustainable solutions for the future of the Earth.  For more information on this program, please visit https://sas.unibuc.ro/cross-disciplinary-perspectives-on-socio-ecological-transformations/

Our school has a tradition of over 15 years and over 30 ERASMUS agreements signed with other sociology, social work, and anthropology departments from prestigious universities in 12 European countries. During the last 10 years approximately 150 of our students went to study in partner universities, taking classes at the B.A. and M.A. level and achieving remarkable results.

Each year one or two professors from our department are also invited for short stages of several days as visiting-professors in ERASMUS partner universities, where they teach various courses, hold workshops and organize conferences for the students in these universities.

Also during the past 10 years, approximately 60 foreign students in the ERASMUS program have participated in courses taught in our Faculty of Sociology and Social Work. During the last 3 or 4 years, our ERASMUS agreements portfolio has significantly increased. Our goal is to not only increase the number of agreements, but also to increase the number of students in our faculty who go to study abroad and gain notable achievements. These students, together with our visiting foreign students within the ERASMUS program are the long-term ambassadors for the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work.

Visiting Erasmus students, please contact us at erasmus@sas.unibuc.ro before the start of your semester for more details regarding the schedule of courses. Irina Zamfirescu (irina.zamfirescu@unibuc.ro) is the institutional ERASMUS responsible for our Faculty.
