Bachelor in Sociology (in english)

Description

There are few things that sociology cannot study. The superpower of sociology is that it can explain the behaviors, attitudes, values of any group about anything. That’s why it’s one of the most generous sciences when it comes to the career options you have after graduation.

Sociology has the tools to study relationships between people (starting from the small neighbourhood scale up to state-level relationships), to analyse communities, to look in depth at problems in society, to explain them and then, in the second step, to propose evidence-based solutions. Sociology also measures people’s perceptions and their behavior in relation to voting, consumption, public spaces, migration, etc. Sociology has the tools to research people and society, it can relate social problems and/or aspirations, desires, needs to social contexts. Everything about our life in communities can be studied from a sociological perspective.

In your third year of study, you can specialize in one of our study modules: Management, Organizations and Marketing, Social Deviance and Crime and Communication and Public Opinion.

Sociology, first and foremost, prepares you for any type of career in which critical attitude and analytical skills are valued, such as journalism, in non-governmental organisations or in local and central public institutions in positions involving research and public policy-making. You can work in any field that involves research (such as market research, research for strategy development, research on voting behaviour or for process optimisation in companies, etc.). Another area where you can build on what you have learned here is social responsibility in multinational companies. You can hold positions in marketing departments and work in communication and advertising.
